Dear Editor, I hate to exercise but I think it’s the reason that I can’t lose weight. Can you tell me the benefits of exercise and will I finally start to lose weight if I stick to a good exercise routine? ~ ~ Tiffany Dear Tiffany, You may hate to exercise but you correctly guessed the reason why you’re not losing weight. I assume you are not gaining weight on your current diet but you obviously are not losing weight either. The trick to sticking to an exercise routine is to find the type of exercise program you enjoy. You can expect the following benefits from your exercise routine:
By starting an exercise routine, you will burn an extra 300 to 400 calories per day. That’s almost a pound of fat each week that will burn off. Find an exercise that you like. Walking at a fast pace for 30 minutes a day is an excellent way to lose weight. Don’t increase your calorie intake and be sure to walk at the fastest pace possible. If you belong to a gym, try the
Elliptical Machine, which is an efficient way to burn calories.
Stationary bike riding is another good fat burner. If you use the
StairMaster, walk at a fast pace at the highest incline you’re
comfortably able to do.
