Does coffee help you lose weight. If it does, I want to go on a coffee diet to lose 20 pounds.  What’s your opinion? Is it safe?

We have a few words for your new diet. DON’T DO IT!  Coffee does contain caffeine, which can slightly boost your metabolism the same way Ephedra does in certain diet pills. However, the side effects from consuming too much caffeine is not worth it and the metabolism boost you get from drinking coffee will be minimum.

Instead, concentrate on a good diet plan. Burning more calories than you consume is how you lose weight. However, you should eat more often, not less. Plan on eating 4 to 5 meals per day and maintain between 1200 and 1500 calories per day if you’re female. Men should eat between 1600 and 2000 calories per day to lose 1 pound per week.

 Plan your meals by writing down exactly what you will eat for the day. Never eat what’s available. That’s the quickest way to eat the wrong foods because you’re more vulnerable to junk food when you’re hungry.

Many fast foods restaurants are including healthy menus, so you don’t have to eliminate fast food from your diet when you’re in a hurry.
