Stress is a fact of life and sometimes it's difficult to recognize the symptoms of stress. Below are a few symptoms of stress and the best method for coping.

 

Stress is a fact of live and everyone has to deal with it in one way or another. However, a few simple coping techniques will keep stress from draining your energy.

Symptoms of stress are:

  • Headache
     

  • Stiff Neck
     

  • Upset Stomach
     

  • Rapid Breathing
     

  • Irritable
     

  • Intolerant of minor disturbance
     

  • Sweaty Palms
     

  • Nagging Backache

The best method for coping with stress is to handle stress in positive ways, such as:

  • Talking to good friends

  • Pursue hobbies that you enjoy
     

  • Get plenty of exercise
     

If you need to start an exercise program, consider the following to help get you started:

 

  • Pick an exercise that you enjoy (walking, jogging, aerobic)
     
  • Set a goal that you can reach (walk 10 minutes a day)
     
  • After a month, increase the duration (20 minutes a day)
     
  • Start today
     
  • Reward yourself every week for staying on schedule

Unfortunately, we're all subject to bad days. There is a sense of comfort and solitude in food which is why we overeat under stress. Whether the stress comes from work, family members or friends, it can be very damaging to our effort to lose weight.

 

It's not the fact that we get stress in our lives but coping with stress in a positive way that will determine our contentment and ability to manage weight. If you find yourself in stressful situations that you can control, make a few changes that will enable you to cope better.

  • Take a Walk or Go to the Gym
  • Call a Good Friend
  • Listen to Your Favorite Music
  • Lean on your Faith -
