Dear Editor, I have a friend who can eat junk food and still lose weight. All she does is cut out a couple of junk food items and she loses weight. However, I eat very healthy and can't lose one pound. What am I doing wrong? Why can she eat whatever she wants and lose weight and I can't lose anything even though I eat healthy. Dear Reader, Another important factor in losing weight is each individual's genetic makeup. Some people can lose weight very easy while others have trouble losing weight even when following a healthy diet. What we recommend is to eat 5 or 6 small meals through the day. Limit your calorie consumption to 300 calories or less per meal. You will need to be prepared so take a few healthy snacks with you to work. Try one boneless chicken breast with a vegetable and place in a Tupperware bowl to eat between meals. A lean meat plus 1 or 2 veggies makes for a nutritious meal and you can stay within 300 calories per meal. Also implement a good walking program. Walk 30 minutes per day at a moderate to fast pace to help increase your metabolism. --------------------------------------------
