Married couples stop communicating with each other and become distant. Single people date the wrong type of person and soon finding themselves in need of much help. So what's the problem? Why do relationship go bad?

One of the biggest relationship problem is that we date or marry the wrong person. The more time you spend with a person, the harder it is to maintain objectivity, which is why you should be very careful who you date.

Lust and loneliness are the two major reasons why singles tend date the wrong person.  Contrary to popular opinion, you can fall in love with anyone if you spend enough time with them. So as hard as it may be, always be selective about potential dating partners. So what do you do when you need help with your relationship?

  • Examine Your Boyfriend / Girlfriend

If you're in a bad relationship while dating, use this opportunity to end the relationship. If your love relationship is abusive, unreliable, extremely jealous, not courteous to others, self centered,  .... then you have big problems. These unwanted traits will only get worse as you spend more time with this person.  Do some self examination of your boyfriend or girlfriend and decide if it's time to end the relationship.

  • Be Brave

Nobody enjoys ending a relationship but you have to think about your best interest. Unfortunately, too many people continue bad relationships, which many times ends in marriage. Once married, your small relationship problem has turned into a nightmare and professional help from a counselor or pastor may be your only salvation. So if you think it will hurt to end a love relationship now, think how hard and painful ending the relationship will be later. The person who gets hurt in a bad relationship is the one who wants the relationship to work the most. So, be brave!

  • Build Your Relationship on Solid Ground

Too many people base their relationship on superficial traits ...... looks, money,  etc.  Remember, if the person you're dating ends up being a major jerk, you don't care how that person looks or how much money they have! Find wholesome traits that both of you enjoy. Build relationship on factors such as:

  • Sharing passionate hobbies
  • Same commitment to religious values (evident through action not mere words)
  • Similar family background and values
  • Observing that your partner is kind to others ... not just you.

These are all good traits to build a relationship. You can help your relationship by:

  • Developing Good Listening Skills
  • Strive to be Considerate to Your Partner
  • Never be a Door Mat for Anyone
  • Pursue Common Goals
  • Relax and Enjoy Each Other Without Basing your Relationship on Sex.
  • Attend Church and Church Activities Together
  • Strive to Always Improve Yourself

One way you can feel better about yourself is by striving to be fit. Why? Simply because when you feel good about yourself, then you feel good about others.
