Losing weight can be a frustrating endeavor but many
people achieve significant weight loss through safe dieting and proven
weight loss methods. Unfortunately, too many people fall for quick weight
loss scams and become discouraged and defeated.
What most people don't realize is that you can lose
weight and achieve your idea weight by dieting using a reasonable meal
plan and you don't have to give up all the foods that you love.
However, successful dieting and weight loss does demand
sacrifice, usually in the form of smaller meal portions, which result in
fewer calories.
Quick weight loss is just an allusion and taking any
type of diet pills or herbal remedy will not work. Many diet pills and
herbs are not safe and may cause harm to your heart or nervous system.
Contrary to popular opinion, Atkins type diets are not
safe when they advocate eating all the meat, butter, cream sauces you
want, as long as you cut carbs. As if carbs is the cause for
gaining weight. Common sense should tell you that this approach to dieting
and losing weight is seriously flawed as most competent nutritionist and
dieticians will tell you.
The reality is that we gain weight because we eat too
many calories each day, and not because we eat too many carbs. It's
true that carbs do contain calories, but so does fat. In fact, there
are twice as many calories in a gram of fat than there is in
carbohydrates. So any notion that carbs are strictly to blame
for weight gain or that you can eat all the meats and fat you want to lose
weight as long as you don't eat too many carbs ...... is ridiculous.
The blame should be place more on our dieting and eating
habits, especially between Thanksgiving and New Years where the average
American gains 5 pounds each year from over-indulging.
The safe way to lose weight is by dieting on a meal plan
that will cause you to lose weight. Usually the diet plan will consist
between 1100 and 1400 calories for women and 1400 to 2000 calories for the
average size man, depending on activity level.
Safe diets are based on common sense. That mean sticking
to a diet that is balance with fruits and vegetables, limited amount of
fats, and fish or poultry which have much less fat and calories than red
meat. Small amounts of red meat is fine for dieting but portion size
should be small.
Dieting to lose weight also involves a good diet plan. It's so
easy to give up or take some wacky weight loss formula. With a good plan, you can find safe ways to dieting and permanent weight loss.
